Elhadi Yahia
Mr. Elhadi Yahia has more than 20 years experience in consulting governments and working directly with agribusiness/farming community representatives of developing countries in the areas of elaboration of agricultural strategies, postharvest value chain improvement (including for medicinal plants), fruit processing, global commodity studies, strategies for reduction of food loss and waste, export promotion strategies for selected crops, optimization of cold chain operations, post-harvest loss reduction, and etc. He’s been working with bilateral and multilateral development organizations, such as Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, United States Agency for International Development, Asian Development Bank, development agents and private sector consortia.
Mr.Yahia has deep knowledge of agricultural systems of North America, North Africa, Middle East, Former Soviet Union, Sub-Saharan Africa, South East and South Asia, Central America, South America, and Caribbean.
Mr. Yahia’s scientific career spans for more than 40 years. Currently, he holds the position of a Professor/Senior Research Scientists in the Autonomous University of Queretaro, Mexico. He has published 20 books and 100 book chapters, produced more than 150 referred scientific papers and 100 or so technical regulations in three languages. He is a very prolific trainer and teacher, who has delivered tailor-made courses in different subjects in more than 50 countries.
Elhadi Yahia is B.S. in Horticulture of the University of Tripoli, Libya. Mr. Yahia acquired M.S. Degree in Horticulture from the University of California, CA in 1982. He is Ph.D. in Plant Science and Food Sciences of the Cornell University, Ithaca, NY.
Mr. Elhadi Yahia is fluent in English, Spanish, and Arabic and has some command of French, Portuguese and Italian.
